Hillsboro-Central Valley has won its share of big football games in the past.

But last Friday’s 20-7 win over No. 2-ranked Bismarck St. Mary’s (1-2) at the Hillsboro Sports Complex was different.

“As of right now, it’ll probably go down as the biggest victory of both schools (Hillsboro and Central Valley) at a home site,” Burros head coach Scott Olsen said.

The No. 1-ranked Burros won the battle in the trenches and had good play clock management in the fourth quarter to come away with their third consecutive victory.

“The coaching was unbelievable,” H-CV senior Mason Richter said.

“They teach us the proper technique on every play. … We just kept battling through in the trenches and getting that win at the line.”
