One advantage Watford City will have over its opponent tonight (Friday) is the number of miles under its hood.

The Wolves (0-1) put on close to 3,500 miles last season and will need to travel 338 miles today to reach Hillsboro.

Their reward? A showdown with freshly No. 1-ranked Hillsboro-Central Valley.

“We try to do every trip the same,” sixth-year head coach Justin Johnsrud said Tuesday.

“We will take off in the morning. We stop someplace and have lunch and we try to get about two hours away and have a walkthrough.”

Watford City finished 0-9 a year ago and opened this season with a 41-0 loss to Class 3A Williston on Aug. 30.
