JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Hillsboro-Central Valley and Heart River went back and forth on day two of the North Dakota state Class B boys golf meet at Jamestown Country Club.

In the end, it was the Burros who surged ahead as Region 2 dominated the awards.

Kindred won the team championship for the sixth time in nine seasons with a 49-over par 625. Oak Grove took second with a 73-over par 649.

“We had a great ending to our season,” H-CV head coach Ryan Nielsen said about his team, which edged Heart River by one stroke with a 108-over par 684.

“I asked the guys to play for H-CV and not themselves and they all did that. To be able to accomplish (third place) was really exciting.”

Six of the top 10 golfers were from Region 2 with Kindred’s Parker Bartels taking home his first individual title after shooting a two-day score of 6-over par 150.
