BISMARCK, N.D. – Hillsboro-Central Valley’s 4x400-meter relay team had a lot to live up to in 2019.

Gracie Wright, Grace Dryburgh, Jensyn Zink and Reagan Baesler won the state title for the Burros last year with a record time of 4:00.24.

On Saturday at the MDU Resources Community Bowl, Zink, Baesler and newcomers sophomore Tatum Limke and freshman Haley Blotsky lived up to the challenge with a runner-up finish of 4:11.22 in the event.

“Placing second with only two returners showed the tradition this team has for competition,” H-CV head coach Heidi Eckart said Monday.

“Tatum and Haley stepped up and ran awesome splits, which gave Jensyn and Reagan the opportunity to make their moves,” she said.

The Burros took sixth at the state track and field meet in Bismarck with 33 points.
