MAYVILLE – Kaden Pastian dominated the discus event Tuesday at the Red River Valley Conference outdoor meet, much like he has all season.

His competitors in the event seemed to drop their jaws every time Pastian completed a throw.

The Burro sophomore earned a first-place finish in both the discus (169 feet, 4 inches) and shot put (48 feet, 8 inches).

In the discus, the runner-up was Larimore senior Logan Wakefield, who finished with a throw of 122 feet, 3 inches.

“I think sometimes he’ll walk out there and some people know Kaden’s here and they might be intimidated a little,” Hillsboro-Central Valley head coach Tony Guttormson said Wednesday.
