LAMOURE, N.D. – The scoring came fast and furious between two of the state’s top 9-man teams.

No. 2 LaMoure/Litchville-Marion and No. 5 MayPort-CG combined for three touch-downs in the first 101 seconds after kickoff – and the action didn’t ease up the rest of the way.

The second-ranked Loboes (8-0) downed the Patriots (6-1) in a high-scoring matchup 66-36 in a rough-and-tumble game in LaMoure that decided the Region 1 crown.

MPCG head coach Adam Sola said his team came away with a few lessons after their first loss.

“We started slow and you can’t give up that many points to a really good team,” Sola said.
