Women were into fall housecleaning before Betty Crocker came into our kitchens.

My mother and grandmother, especially, were into cleaning their homes every fall and spring; it was a semi-annual ritual. I just don’t remember the family participating; certainly, not my father.

Personally, I’ve never bought into the argument of the ultimate twice-a-year cleaning schedule. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been roped into it, however.

I’m told women today aren’t into fall housecleaning like their mothers were. This is good to hear. I wish someone would tell my wife, the Baker/DA (Domestic Administrator), this.

We haven’t started but I suspect it’s not far off; we’re into the second week in November, right?

This is when it generally occurs, right? The DREADED FALL HOUSECLEANING (DFH) syndrome.
