Seeking asylum and not sure where to go

All my life, it seems, I’ve been following orders.

Growing up, it was my mother and grandmother and older sister. In school, it was the teachers.

In the service, it’s everyone in the pay grades above yours.

In the workplace, there were newspaper editors and publishers.

From a mad mother, forgiving grandmother and hysterical older sister to irate principals and superintendents to the Navy’s unforgiving high command to angry newspaper editors, I’ve followed orders, this after being spanked with threats, reprimanded with promised discipline and issued guaranteed dismissals.

So, when the president tells me to “go back where I came from,” I naturally started packing.
