Checking in with the bank’s new tellers

Clinics, churches and banks are where I seem to get into the most trouble.

I had been working on my first job as editor, a stint that lasted 10 years, shortly after I got out of the Navy, when I got into my first bank-related incident.

I liked the town and the town seemed to like me.

I was young, single, lacking direction but of good character, I was told.

“He comes from a good Norwegian family, you know.”

Regardless, everyone liked me, like I said. And they loved my newspaper. Being who they were, God-fearing, prayerful and family-oriented, they felt they were responsible for me, to the point where they found it necessary to look after me. They also found it necessary to pray for me.
