And Audrey makes six.

Three years ago Barb, the Baker/DA, and I didn’t have any grandchildren.

We now have six, what with the arrival of Audrey Sara early Monday morning in Dickinson.

Daughter Tena fought through three hours of grueling labor, an experience she describes as traumatizing for her, the baby and everyone on the sprawling medical center’s second floor.

She swore like a sailor, according to her nurses. What we heard turned heads in downtown Dickinson.

Being an old sailor, I appreciated the delivery’s colorful accompanying dialogue.

Who would have thought, the nurses said amongst themselves, a beautiful young girl would use that kind of language?

Goes to show, you never can tell, I submitted.

“And who are you?”

The baby’s grandfather, I replied. An old sailor.
