It’s summertime, relax and ditch the pants

I hate to admit it – especially in print – but I’m jealous of my 9-year-old.

My son and I are a lot alike. Sure, he looks like a miniature version of my husband and they share the same goofy sense of humor, but otherwise, my kiddo’s personality is very similar to mine.

But this summer I’ve discovered my son, Jack, shares one of the qualities I envy most in my husband: the ability to relax.

Now, my husband is 44, meaning he has to go to work most days, and mow the lawn and do my laundry when he’s home. So while he has the ability to relax, he doesn’t often have the opportunity.

Not so for young Jack, who’s in that wonderful age where he’s old enough to set his own summer schedule and too young to legally find work.

And he’s definitely making the most of it.
