Stewart E. Broderson, 81, Reynolds, N.D., died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, at his home in Buxton, N.D.

Stewart was born July 11, 1937, in Isante County, Minn., the son of Erwin and Selma (Gronnestad) Broderson. He grew up in Reynolds and Duluth, Minn., and graduated from East Grand Forks (Minn.) High School.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956-59 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

Stewart married Lorann “Tudy” Aasen in 1969. He worked for the Grand Forks (N.D.) Fire Department from 1960 until his retirement in 1996.  He also worked many years for the Grand Forks Country Club.

Stewart was a member of the East Grand Forks American Legion and was a lifelong member of the NRA.

Stewart is survived by his children, Sheri (Ron Nikle) Flaten, Minto, N.D.,  Erik (Bobbi) Broderson, Reynolds and Mar Dee (Tim) Spurgeon, Buxton; siblings, Rodney (Sina) Broderson, Fargo, N.D., Gerald (Lana) Broderson, Superior, Wis. and Jeanette Reeling, Glendale, Ariz.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tudy; his parents; a daughter, Lori Parent; a granddaughter, Brandi Parent; and two brothers, Martin and Jerome.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 8 at 2:30 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.

Inurnment will be at a later date at Rosendahl Cemetery, rural Reynolds.
