Karlyn (Bjorge) Gunderson passed away on Nov. 2, 2018 with her family by her side after a four-month battle with cancer.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years Marvin, and her son and daughter John Gunderson and Karla Votroubek and son-in-law Drew.

Karlyn also had three grandchildren Dan Gunderson, Jack Gunderson and Nick Votroubek who she called the joy of her life.

Karlyn was born on her parents’ farm (Ardell and Hazel Bjorge) in Buxton, N.D. on Feb. 24, 1943. She was the third born of eight siblings.

She graduated from Climax (Minn.) High School and received her AA from Mayville State College.

After leaving college she went to work for the North Dakota geology survey and stayed until moving to California.

In California she worked in aerospace and education as an administrative assistant before moving into the business world working for many small businesses.

Karlyn also was an early adopter and was at the forefront of anti- aging and network marketing. She has accomplished so much over the years to be proud of.

Karlyn and Marv moved their family to Ca in 1964 and then to Laguna Niguel in Orange County in 1971, where they have been a big part of the community since.

Karlyn was active in her church and went to countless school and sporting events.

She loved being recognized as John and Karla’s mother when they were growing up and more recently as the Dan, Jack and Nick’s grandmother.

Karlyn’s warmth, compassion and love was recognized by everyone around her and will be missed greatly by her family and the community.
