Verona “Verna” Mae Larson, age 85 of Grand Forks, N.D., formerly of Climax, Minn. passed away on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019 at her home.

Verna Eliason was born on May 1, 1934 in Buxton, N.D., the daughter of Helen Hovet. 

She grew up and attended school in Buxton, graduating from Buxton High School with the Class of 1952. 

On Nov. 29, 1952 she was united in marriage to Donald Larson in Buxton. She was involved in the farming operation for many years with her husband, Donald. 

Verna was involved in Climax Lutheran Church and the community. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan and watched every game. Verna enjoyed crafting, sewing and baking, but most importantly she loved spending time with her family and friends. 

Cherished family members who survive Verna include her children, Darrell (Debbie) Larson of Reynolds, N.D., Linda (Kim) Anderson of Hillsboro, N.D. and Brian (Cherise) Larson of Longmont, Colo, 7 grandchildren; Nichelle Radi, Travis (Annie) Larson, Jeremie (Lenita) Larson, Meghan Anderson, Whitney Anderson, Jaelyn Larson, Baylee Larson and 10 great-grandchildren; Madison, McKenzi, Maci; Tyler, Chase, Scarlet, Aliceanna, Hazel; and Lenora, Camron. She is preceded in death by her husband Donnie; grandson Tanner Larson; and grandson-in-law Todd Radi. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Climax Lutheran Church, Climax.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at Climax Lutheran Church.
