Judith Ann Olson, 80, Halstad, Minn. died Sunday, March 1, 2020, in her home in Halstad.

Judith Ann Jacobson was born Aug. 24, 1939, to Philip and Harriet (Bjorge) Jacobson.

She attended grade school in Caledonia, N.D., graduated from Climax (Minn.) High School in 1957 and attended Interstate Business College in Fargo N.D.

She married Albert “Bobby” Olson on Dec. 30, 1957. They farmed near Halstad. He died in 2004.

Judith was a member of East Marsh River Lutheran Church where she was active in Ladies’ aid and served many positions on the council. She was a member of the Red River Homemakers, FHA Chapter mother, a 4-H leader for Marsh River 4-H Club and a mediator for the State of Minnesota Extension Service during the mid-1980s farm crisis.

She is survived by four children: Angela (Peter) Matthews, Kittery, Maine, Terri (Mike) Trygg, Halstad, Roberta (Robert) Hettervig, Hillsboro N.D. and Rodney (Anita) Olson, Halstad; four grandchildren: Ross Hettervig, Brittany (Mike) Peschel, Blake Olson and Ryan Olson; two great-grandsons: Jett and Cal Peschel; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and cousins Patty Jewel and Joyce Gullingsrud. 

She was preceded in death by two infant siblings, her parents and her husband.

A funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at Halstad Lutheran Church with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Halstad.

Burial will be at East Marsh River Lutheran Cemetery, rural Halstad.
