David M. “Banjo Dave” Holzer, 66, of Hillsboro, N.D., passed away on Monday, Dec. 30, 2019 at home due to Leukemia.

David Michael Holzer was born on May 13, 1953 in Williston, N.D. to Benedict and Jerri (Gordon) Holzer. He graduated from high school in Jamestown, N.D. and attended NDSCS in Wahpeton, N.D. On September 10, 1983 he married Rhonda Lincoln in West Fargo, N.D. They lived in West Fargo until moving to Hillsboro in 2018.

David enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, music and working with stained glass. He was especially talented at woodworking and carving and even made his own musical instruments.

He performed with the Ogge Creek String Band and was a member of local woodcarving clubs.

He was preceded in death by his father Ben and brother Joel.

David is survived by his wife Rhonda, of Hillsboro; daughter Katie (Robert) Taylor, of Hillsboro; grandchildren: Robert, Teairra, Zachariah and Kaleah; sister, Carla Holzer, of Jamestown, N.D. and his mother Jerri Holzer, of Jamestown.
