The Central Valley School Board on Tuesday approved its final budget for the 2019-20 school year calling for no changes in the district’s property tax mill levies.

The district’s general fund mill levy will remain at 70 mills for a second straight year.

Superintendent Jeremy Brandt said the school will collect $974,000 via its general levy, a 6 percent increase compared to a year ago due to higher property values in the district.

The rural school’s estimated taxable valuation includes $3.89 million from land and homes in Grand Forks County and $10 million in Traill County.

Even with the higher values and added tax money, Brandt said he expects the district’s expenses to exceed its revenues by $85,000 in 2019-20.
