The Traill County Economic Development Commission is hosting a lunch and learn focusing on employee retention and recruitment from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at Mayville State University.

Christy Dauer, program manager for the North Dakota Women’s Business Center - East, will provide tips and strategies for employers to both recruit and retain their workforce.

“Workforce is one of the biggest issues facing Traill County employers,”  said TCEDC Executive Director Jim Murphy.

“That’s the feedback we’re getting from companies in the area. Unemployment is incredibly low right now, and employers need to think creatively about how to recruit quality employees – and then keep them.”

This is the second lunch and learn social of the year hosted by TCEDC in conjunction with Traill United Group.

TCEDC also coordinated a June 5 session featuring social media basics, which had approximately two dozen attendees.

The Sept. 4 lunch and learn will be held at the auditorium in MSU’s classroom building.

The cost to attend is $10 and includes a boxed lunch.

Attendees are asked to register by emailing office@traillcountyedc.com.

The deadline to register is Tuesday, Aug. 27.
