Shana Williams and her friends are planning a murder in Hillsboro.

Hold off on making that 911 call, however.

Williams’ premeditated plan will be more of a fundraiser than a felony.

A board member with the Traill County Historical Society, Williams has spent the past couple months organizing a murder mystery dinner party at the Plummer House Museum in Hillsboro.

The fundraiser scheduled Saturday, Nov. 9 was announced on social media Oct. 3.

In less than 48 hours, 20 tickets set aside for the one-night event had sold out.

“We’re really excited about this and think it’s going to be something we can do again in the future,” said Williams, seated at a table Tuesday inside the Plummer House along Caledonia Avenue.

“These types of parties are getting to be more popular, so we thought it would be something fun to do.”
