Hillsboro city commissioners dipped their toes in the pool – so to speak.

At its meeting Monday, the board approved a $6,000 expenditure to begin development of a master plan for a new community pool.

Voting 3-1, the board accepted a proposal from Buxton-based architect Bobbi Hepper Olson.

Commissioner Dave Sather cast the lone no vote after he questioned how the city would pay for the architect.

City Auditor Matt Mutzenberger responded to Sather by saying, “I don’t know. It’s in there somewhere. I’ll find it. We have reserves.”
