Administrators in the Hillsboro School District fielded dozens of questions from parents about the upcoming school year during a Zoom call Wednesday night.

The one-hour session on the district’s return-to-learn plan covered topics that included a school mandate requiring educators and students to wear masks during the day and how parents will be notified if a case of COVID-19 surfaces in their children’s classrooms.

Superintendent Paula Suda said officials have been working diligently to create a plan that will keep kids safe in 2020-21.

“We’re going to learn a lot this year and it’s not going to look like” previous school years, Suda told parents during the Zoom call.

“Things are coming at us faster than we can handle but we’re going to do the best we can.”
