A western North Dakota energy company consultant and sales rep living in Mayville has entered the District 20 race for the state House of Representatives.

Zack Blotsky, 33, will join John Pederson of Mayville on the Democrat-NPL Party ticket.

Blotsky moved to Mayville less than a year ago after spending more than a decade working in the oil industry in Williston, N.D.

The father of two – and husband of MayPort-CG Principal La Lynda Blotsky – was involved in a supporting role in political campaigns in District 1 during the last legislative election cycle prior to his move to the area.

Blotsky said that experience prompted him to toss his hat into the political arena and pursue a seat in the House from District 20.
