The North Dakota Department of Health on Monday reported Traill County’s first deaths related to COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus.

An unidentified man in his 90s and another in his 80s, both with underlying health conditions, tested positive for the virus, the health department reported.

State health officials did not disclose the names or cities of residence of either man.

Traill District Health Unit Director Brenda Stallman said that her office wasn’t informed which day the deaths occurred.

However, health officials typically are a day behind in reporting statistics related to the virus, she said.
