Seniors at Hillsboro High School will receive more than a diploma at their graduation ceremony Sunday, May 24. They’ll also get a temperature check.

School officials in Hillsboro and Central Valley public schools have finalized plans to hold graduation ceremonies on school grounds May 24 after receiving a green light from State Superintendent Kirsten Baesler.

Hillsboro High School Principal Terry Baesler said administrators will restrict access to graduation at the Hillsboro Events Center, allowing only graduates and their parents to enter the HEC.

Attendees need to have their temperatures scanned beforehand and will be clustered 6 feet apart to keep with social distancing guidelines to combat the spread of COVID-19.
