Negotiating committees for the Hillsboro and Norman County West (Minn.) school districts have signed off on a revenue-sharing tuition plan between the schools – although the deal still requires approval from both districts’ school boards.

Hillsboro Public Schools Superintendent Paula Suda announced Tuesday that the district’s curriculum committee approved a tuition agreement in principle with the neighboring Minnesota school for the 2018-19 school year.

Suda declined to reveal details of the proposed deal, including how revenues would be split between the schools for Norman County West students who open-enroll in Hillsboro this fall.

“We’re not sharing that information yet … but it’s very reasonable,” Suda said Tuesday. “It’s a very common-sense agreement right now to us and I hope to them as well.”
