Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem on Wednesday suspended the gaming license of a California company that makes electronic pull tab devices, a move that could temporarily shut down e-tab machines at two Hillsboro bars.

In a release, Stenehjem said Powerhouse Gaming had been using pirated software that was installed in e-tab machines across North Dakota.

Stenhejem’s order suspended Powerhouse’s gaming license and required the company’s e-tab machines to be disabled immediately and shut down until further notice.

“North Dakotans, and my office, expect gaming operators to completely comply with our laws. Any violators will be held accountable,” Stenehjem said in the release.
