Hillsboro city leaders and members of the Hillsboro Economic Development Corp. attempted to find common ground during a mediation session Monday in the wake of several dust-ups between the two sides earlier this year.

Moderated by Traill County Economic Development Commission Executive Director Jim Murphy, the 70-minute session was designed to identify how city commissioners and HEDC can work toward common goals.

Murphy opened Monday’s session by pointing out the relationship between the two groups in recent months “had started turning south.”

He asked participants to outline their visions and goals for economic growth in Hillsboro.
