The Dakota Boys Restaurant at 226 9th Ave. S.E. in Mayville will shut its doors today (Friday), the business announced in a Facebook post Tuesday.

Owner Ryan Berg thanked diners for supporting the family restaurant along Highway 200 but confirmed the business would close a little more than year after its debut in Mayville.

“It has been a(n) amazing journey! We have met some amazing people, made some great friends!” Berg wrote.

“You all have seen us through our toughest time, our saddest times, and our fun times. It is with a heavy heart say we will be closing our doors … permanently.”

In his post, Berg said the restaurant would be offering to-go meals this week due to the state’s ban on sit-down dining due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He encouraged patrons to visit the restaurant a final time before its doors close.

“We still have plenty of great food to serve so come on out for some to-go (and) say goodbye if you like!” he wrote. “The town of Mayville has been amazing!”
