Twenty-one trucks hauling 220 loads of concrete were expected on site early Thursday morning at Hillsboro Regional Airport to continue pouring a new runway at the airport 4 miles south of Hillsboro.

The airport has been shut down this summer as part of a $7 million project to add a new concrete runway and new landing lights.

In addition to the concrete runway, the project will pay for improved ditching, LED precision approach lights, a taxiway and a taxilane that connects to new hangars to house more aircraft.
