Burros AD seeks input on addressing fans who ignore mask requirements

Fans at Hillsboro-Central Valley home games won’t be tossed out for failing to wear masks to curb the spread of COVID-19, but they may get a talking to.

Members of the Central Valley School Board on Wednesday debated how to address situations where spectators refuse to don masks at home volleyball or football games.

H-CV athletic director Dave Nelson said both Hillsboro and Central Valley school buildings have signs on their exterior doors announcing that masks are required to enter the schools.

However, Nelson said he lacked direction on how to enforce the requirement.

“We have signs saying ‘face masks required,’ but do we really mean it?” Nelson asked the board.
