The Hillsboro-Central Valley and MayPort-CG football teams will undergo scheduling shake-ups and face new opponents on the gridiron in 2021.

The North Dakota High School Activities Association’s football committee has released preliminary division and region assignments for the newly created Class 11B and 9B divisions next year.

Although the plan won’t be finalized until December, the proposal will move the Class 2A defending state champion Burros into 11B to face more traditional Class B opponents.

Under the proposal, H-CV will be paired in an eight-team Region 2 with Northern Cass, Grafton, Park River/Fordville-Lankin, Carrington, Harvey, Thompson and Langdon Area-Edmore-Munich.

“We didn’t know if we’d be moved north or south,” Burros head coach Scott Olsen said Monday.
