The Central Valley School Board on Tuesday finalized a two-year contract with its teachers union and agreed to spend up to $25,000 to renovate and expand the press box at Randy Vigen Field.

School Board Chair Dave Seyfried said negotiators agreed on the salary increases in the contract weeks ago.

The agreement will provide a $600 pay bump for the district’s 20 full-time teachers and a matching $600 step increase this fall with identical increases in 2020-21. The deal will boost teachers’ pay by roughly 2.75 percent each year.

Board members also approved minor contract changes allowing teachers to apply for in-house openings before those jobs are advertised.
