The Hillsboro Business Association’s annual Christmas cash campaign saw $120,725 spent in interest-free holiday loans during its 11-week run in Hillsboro.

That figure represents a 1.8 percent decrease in spending from 2018’s figures when $123,000 was spent in the city, according to officials at Dakota Heritage Bank and The Goose River Bank.

Dakota Heritage Bank processed 64 loan applications for $61,600 through Tuesday, the final day of the holiday loan promotion.

Dustin Nagel, Dakota Heritage’s president, said the bank had 13 more loans compared to a year ago.
