Stalled negotiations between Hillsboro city leaders and a Fargo housing developer interested in building 32 multi-family rental units in Hillsboro appear to be restarting.

Hillsboro City Commission President Terry Sando said Monday that Rob Jordahl of Jordahl Custom Homes agreed to meet with city officials Wednesday morning in Hillsboro to request property tax incentives for his project.

However, that meeting was postponed to address legal questions that surfaced over the city’s ability to extend tax breaks for Jordahl’s planned development west of Second Street North and north of Kiwanis Senior Housing.

“Right now, there’s a hold on any face-to-face meetings,” Sando told members of the Hillsboro Economic Development Corp. on Monday night.
