As Jora Leeseberg selected her “League of Legends” champion Tuesday, she offered encouragement to her four teammates.

Leeseberg, a freshman at Hillsboro High School, has been playing the PC team-oriented strategy game for about a year and has become a leader in the  school’s first-year esports club.

“I think the reason why I’ve kind of been put as the leader is because I’m the highest level and have the most experience,” said Leeseberg, who goes by the screen name “BunnyNuggets” and has a level 90 account.

“I help my teammates if they have questions on what to do or just how to play the game.”
