Traill County 4-H extends deadline for photo contest

The Traill County 4-H Leaders Council has extended its deadline for accepting entries for its amateur photography contest through 4 p.m. Monday, July 8.

The contest is open to Traill County residents as part of 4-H Achievement Days, set for July 11-12 in Hillsboro.

Photos will be displayed at the 4-H Exhibit Building at the Traill County Road Department starting at 6 p.m., Thursday July 11 and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 12.

The top-scoring entries also will be on display inside the Traill County Courthouse in Hillsboro from August through November.

The contest includes two age divisions: a senior division for ages 19 and older and a junior division for ages 18 and under.

Ribbons for first, second and third place will be awarded.

Subject matter of the photos should include landscapes, architecture or area scenery taken in Traill County.

Portraits that clearly identify a person must have a signed consent along with the photo. 

Exhibitors can enter up to three photographs.

Photos should be 8 inches by 10 inches in size and should be matted but not framed. 

Photographers should include their name, division, address and phone number on the back of each entry.

Photographs must be turned in to the NDSU Extension/Traill County Office in the basement of the Traill County Courthouse by 4 p.m. July 8.
