Civic leaders in Hillsboro agreed Monday to meet with a Fargo developer in hopes of reigniting his interest in building a multi-family housing development in Hillsboro.

Jim Murphy, executive director of the Traill County Economic Development Commission, said March 21 that the rental housing project planned in Hillsboro by Jordahl Custom Homes had come “to a bit of a halt.”

Four days later, members of the Hillsboro Economic Development Corp. implored city leaders Monday to reopen talks with developer Rob Jordahl.

Jordahl’s planned 35-unit project west of Second Street Northwest and north of Kiwanis Senior Housing remains sorely needed in the city, said Paula Suda, HEDC’s president.

“We have worked long and hard on this and they are willing to build in Hillsboro,” Suda said. “We have to be happy someone is willing to come to town to do that.”
