An Austin, Texas woman has been arrested and faces pending charges of aggravated assault in connection with a shooting incident June 28 in Portland.

Traill County authorities arrested Sadie Rix, 42, following a police standoff last Friday.

According to a release from Traill County Sheriff Steve Hunt:

Deputies responded to reports of multiple gunshots along Seventh Street in Portland shortly after 9:30 p.m. June 28.

Officers who arrived at the scene discovered two males, ages 42 and 43, suffering from gunshot wounds.

A female suspect, later identified as Rix, had locked herself inside a white, full-size van parked along the street, Hunt said in the release.

Deputies set up a perimeter around the van, allowing the victims to flee from the scene.

Both men were transported to Sanford Hospital in Mayville for treatment.

Officers arrested Rix early Saturday morning and transported her to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.

She was being held in the Grand Forks jail Tuesday on a $50,000 cash bond.

Her first court appearance in Traill County District Court is scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 10.
