The first Hillsboro Days super human power pull kicked off three days later than scheduled and without its pair of prize performers. That didn’t stop 28 pullers from lining up in Woodland Park on Tuesday night and tossing their weight around to entertain a crowd of 75 spectators.

Organizer Paul Geray planned on showcasing the pull – which had the same basic rules as a horse pull – during Saturday’s Hillsboro Days celebration.

But heavy rains Saturday afternoon turned the park’s pulling track into a muddy mess, forcing Geray to delay the event until Tuesday.

The postponement meant marquee pullers and former North Dakota State Bison football champions Brian Schaetz and Andrew Grothmann couldn’t attend.
